Initial Contact with RSA Insurance Group

A few days after Danny had sadly passed away, I reached out to the PR team at RSA to ask to speak to someone to discuss the 14-day “no-claim” clause. The email below was the response I received. This is the first in a number of emails I have sent and received to RSA.

Who sets the 14-day "no claim" clause on Pet Insurance?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for getting in touch. I work with Alex, who asked me to look into your enquiry. I’ll speak to our team about this.

Please could you let me know what your research is for and if / where it might be published?

Thanks,
Sam

In reply to Dave Parker’s original email dated 3rd December 2020 to Alexander J, RSA Insurance Group plc

Hello Alexender.
I was hoping you or one of your colleagues could answer a question for me regarding some research I am conducting regarding Pet Insurance in the UK.

As Royal and Sun Alliance is an underwriter, I would like to know whether it is the underwriter who sets the 14-day “no claim” clause on pet insurance policies, or whether it is the broker/company that sets this. For example, you underwrite pet insurance for Tesco. Is it Royal and Sun Alliance that puts in the 14-day clause, or is that Tesco who put that into their policy?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Dave
